LA AGUERA

A district in the Spanish Sahara.


LABUAN

An island off the North coast of Borneo.
Under British Control from 1846, and a British colony from 1902.
Part of Straits Settlements from 1906 until it became part of North Borneo in 1946.

LEEWARD ISLANDS

A group of islands that includes Antigua, Barbuda, British Virgin Islands, Dominica, Montserrat, Nevis, St. Christopher and St. Kitts.

LIBYA

Formerly an Italian colony in North Africa.

LIECHTENSTEIN

An independent principality between Austria and Switzerland.

LITHUANIA

A country on the Baltic Sea.
Formerly under Russian rule.
Became independent under German Eastern Command.
